He has been made Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his services to public audit and accountability in Wales” Huw Vaughan Thomas, who retires in July, has been Auditor General for Wales for nearly 8 years. He has spent nearly 5 decades working in public service, with previous roles including the Department of Employment Director for Wales and Chief Executive of Gwynedd and Denbighshire councils.
