Commissioning services

  • Person working on accounts
  • What we're doing

A thematic review at each of the 22 principal councils looking at their arrangements for commissioning services. This review will result in a local report for each council followed by a national summary report following the conclusion of local work.

    Why we're doing it

With local government finances under significant pressure, we want to to provide assurance that councils have proper arrangements to secure value for money in the use of resources, and are acting in accordance with the sustainable development principle. As well as explaining how councils approach commissioning, we will seek to inspire public sector bodies to improve by sharing examples of notable practice where relevant.

    When we'll report

    Spring 2025
