Moving from outputs to outcomes
This series of webinars will look at different aspects of how public services can use an outcome focussed approach to demonstrate the impact of their work.
The Well-being for Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 have all placed further emphasis on public bodies to measure outcomes rather than outputs.
The goals of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 [opens in new window] require public services to evidence how their work improves the lives of the Welsh public. This means moving away from demonstrating the outputs of our work, which are easier to measure but tell us little, to demonstrating the outcomes of our work, which are more difficult to measure but tell us about the real difference that we make to people’s lives.
So how can public services make this difficult step to evidencing their impact? This webinar will look at the background knowledge, awareness and behaviours necessary to move towards an outcomes focussed approach and will share how other bodies are moving forward with measuring their outcomes.
This is a safe space for delegates to share their initial thinking in how they intend to approach the cultural shift within their organisations and partnership bodies and to hear from speakers who will share learning from their own experiences.
