How we understand and work to foster equality in our workplaces, communities and society at large is vitally important.
Anne Collis is the author of the report “Not Just the Usual Suspects: Designing a New Method for Public Consultation” for Bangor University. She is also a co-founder of Barod – a social enterprise set up and run by a mix of people with and without learning disabilities. In this podcast Anne discusses the failures and successes of social care policy in Wales, and what needs to change to guarantee people with learning disabilities an “ordinary life”.
Subjects discussed here include the difference between diversity of background and diversity of opinion, the complicated issue of ‘evidence-based policy making’ and creating change from a grassroots level.
