Our graduate programme is hands on.
You’ll be studying for your accountancy qualification and being supported in a full learning and development programme.
Alongside your professional qualification training, you’ll be doing a range of financial accounts work to check that data is accurate and highlighting and questioning any inaccuracies through regular contact with finance and other professionals.
Our trainees also get involved with grants certification work, data analytics, governance and value for money work.
You’ll work with a variety of clients, including:
We understand how difficult studying can be, but you’ll be supported throughout the whole programme, studying with the rest of your cohort, enabling you to build relationships and learn from your peers.
Do you see yourself as a future finance leader within the public sector in Wales? Then this might be the programme for you!
We’re looking for individuals who are naturally inquisitive, have the confidence to challenge themselves and their work, have a professional manner and a strong academic background.
We take pride in what we do and realise that in order to do our best work, team collaboration is key. We’ve built a culture in which learning and development is a priority, and have created a safe space where everyone is able to develop both personally and professionally. With this in mind, we’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate a team working ethos and the desire for continuous development.
At Audit Wales, we value the importance of the Welsh language in our work and aim to provide a bilingual service to everyone who wants to use it.
We would therefore like to especially encourage applications from individuals that have Welsh language skills to help us meet this aim. Welsh skills are desirable for these roles, but a number of them will be essential that you have Welsh language skills.
You can find out more about who we’re looking for and the academic qualifications needed in our job description.
We invest in the future of our graduates which is why we cover all costs of ICAEW student membership, tuition, exam costs and study materials. With an exam pass rate of above the national average for ICAEW, you’ll be joining a first-class programme.
On top of this, we’re also passionate about ensuring our graduates have long and successful careers, which is why our programme is also supplemented with leadership, critical thinking and emotional intelligence learning, resulting in an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM level 3 award).
We offer the unique opportunity to carry out a secondment with another public sector body, providing you with the chance to experience another organisations culture, and to develop finance skills alongside your auditing skills.
You’ll also have access to a very generous benefits package.
If you are as excited about this programme as we are, you can find out more about it and how to apply on our Graduate Trainee page.
Applications for this programme close on 23 January.
