The sustainable development principle

  • Sustainable development icons
  • What we're doing

This report will consider how public bodies are applying the ‘sustainable development principle’ under the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. It will summarise findings from work across relevant public bodies since May 2020.

    Why we're doing it

The Auditor General has a duty to examine the extent to which certain public bodies have applied the sustainable development principle in setting well-being objectives and taking steps to meet them. He must report periodically on the findings from those examinations, with the next report due by early May 2025.

    When we'll report

    Spring 2025
