A huge congratulations and well done to Eleri Davies for winning Apprentice of the Year for Accountancy and overall Apprentice of the Year.
We’re so proud of Eleri and all her hard work, determination and commitment to the Audit Wales Apprenticeship programme. Bringing enthusiasm and energy to everything she does, Eleri is a much valued member of the Audit Wales team.
We’re passionate about providing public sector apprenticeship opportunities and are delighted to be able to celebrate this fantastic news during Apprenticeship Week 2023.
We asked Eleri how she felt about winning the awards and she said:
Being nominated, short-listed, and then ultimately winning the title of Apprentice of the Year within Accountancy and Overall Apprentice of the Year at Grwp Llandrillo Menai is an immense privilege. Starting my apprenticeship back in September 2020 I had very limited accounting knowledge, so when I first started my learning as an AAT apprentice it felt like a new language and at times I felt completely out of my depth! However, the support I received from my tutors was outstanding and I’ve received many opportunities to apply my learning with various tasks at work in Audit Wales. Working alongside my studies has given me the best of both worlds and I would encourage anyone considering an apprenticeship to go for it!
Speaking about Eleri’s award win, Executive Director of Audit Services, Ann-Marie Harkin said:
Congratulations Eleri - we are delighted to see Eleri’s success, winning both Apprentice of the Year Accountancy and overall Apprentice of the Year is incredible. Eleri’s success is borne from a commitment to the AAT apprenticeship and reflects what can be achieved. Audit Wales are proud of and value all our apprentices and are committed to providing apprenticeship opportunities as an alternative entry route to our organisation. Apprenticeships offer a valuable and supportive environment for learners, and we are proud of playing our part in Eleri’s career journey so far.
